As highlighted by Wolf and Polonetsky, Big Data analytics has already begun empowering society to limit and remedy discrimination and follows the legacy of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act and the Hate Crime Statistics Act of 1990, which produce comprehensive statistics on hate crimes for law enforcement.
