Hogan Lovells U.S. Privacy and Information Management Practice Ranked as a Top-Tier Practice by Chambers USA and Legal 500 US

Chambers USA and Legal 500 US recently released their 2013 rankings, and we are pleased to announce that Hogan Lovells’ Privacy and Information Management practice received the recognition of Band 1 by Chambers USA and Tier 1 by Legal 500 US. Also, both of its practice leaders, Marcy Wilder and Chris Wolf, have been selected for top rankings among privacy law practitioners by Chambers and “Leading Lawyers” by Legal 500.

Bloomberg Law Features Televised Interview with Hogan Lovells Privacy Practice Director

App Privacy is in the News Again

This blog entry describes and links to articles from today’s Wall Street Journal and New York Times concerning the proliferation of appps (at the expense of software manufacturers) and the issue of app privacy, and how industry is addressing it. Hogan Lovells’ Chris Wolf is quoted in the Times article on how app developers should invest in creating privacy policies as a fundamental requirement, and a free webinar on app privacy hosted by the Mobile Marketing Association in conjunction with the Future of Privacy Forum is described, with a registration link.

New York Times Stirs Debate over EU vs. US Privacy Commitment

A recent New York Times article fueled the debate over whether the EU is more committed to the protection of personal privacy than the US. Hogan Lovells Privacy and Information Management practice co-director Chris Wolf responded in a Letter to the Editor of the Times, published today, along with that of Mark Rotenberg of the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
